Account & Data Deletion

This page explains how to delete your account and data for the Cogent mobile app (listed as "Cogent AI: Impulse Interceptor" on Google Play and the App Store), developed by Mithilesh Sawanth. You can delete your entire account, or delete individual decisions and their data while keeping your account.

1. Delete Your Account (and All Data)

From within the app

Open Cogent and go to the Profile tab.
Tap Delete Account.
Confirm twice. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

If you can no longer access the app

Email support@iocogent.com with the subject "Delete my account" from the email address registered to your account. We will verify the request and complete the deletion within 30 days.

Active subscription? Deleting your account does not cancel a Cogent Pro subscription — subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us. Cancel first in the App Store (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) or Google Play (Menu → Payments & subscriptions), then delete your account.

What is deleted, and what is kept

Account information (email, display name, profile)	Deleted immediately; removed from backups within 30 days
Decisions ("brain dumps"), AI chat history, life anchors (Pillars), regret ledger, scores and usage counters	Deleted immediately; removed from backups within 30 days
Sign-in record (Firebase Authentication)	Deleted immediately
Subscription customer record (RevenueCat)	Deleted within 30 days
Voice recordings	Never stored — audio is transcribed in real time and discarded, so there is nothing to delete
Purchase and payment records	Kept for 7 years where required by tax and accounting law (Apple / Google also retain your store purchase history under their own policies)
Anonymized diagnostics and crash logs	Automatically deleted within 90 days; not linked back to a deleted account

2. Delete Some Data Without Deleting Your Account

You can remove individual decisions — including the AI conversation attached to them — at any time, while keeping your account:

Open Cogent and go to your History (or open an active quarantine from the Dashboard).
Open the decision you want to remove.
Tap the delete (trash) icon and confirm.

The decision, its chat messages, and any regret-ledger entry tied to it are permanently deleted from our servers.

For any other data-deletion request (for example, clearing your life anchors or display name), email support@iocogent.com and we will action it within 30 days.
